Just some pictures of a perfect night.
Motion City Soundtrack, The Front Bottoms, and The Henry Clay People (Slim’s, San Francisco, June 16th 2012)
Tonight, my friends (Kelly, Katie, Corene, and Carlie) went to San Francisco to go to the Motion City Soundtrack concert at Slim’s. Kelly, Corene (especially Corene), and I were extremely excited for The Front Bottoms who was opening for MCS and ever since the Say Anything concert back in like May where they opened for Say Anything, we’ve kinda been in love with them.
So, here are just some thoughts about the bands.
MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK
PERFECTION. Seriously. They were amazing and I was so happy that I could finally see them live. Also, Katie and I met Justin Pierre AKA a perfect human being. I also got to meet Matt (bassist). They were just so ridiculously nice and cool and like even though Justin’s throat/voice hurt, he still stayed out and took pictures and signed stuff for a lot of us. Matt was just chilling and talking beers with some fans and gah. I just can’t believe that I finally got to meet two of my favorites and tell them how much they helped me through 8th grade and even now.
Such amazingly nice and talented guys. I can’t even find the proper words to eloquently put into words how much I love these guys.
THE FRONT BOTTOMS
Ever since we (Kelly, Corene, and I) saw them open for Say Anything back in May, we’ve all been sorta in love with them so we were so excited to see them live again especially now that we actually knew who they were and stuff. When they performed this time, there were more people who knew them and like it was amazing. Brian (lead vocals/guitar) would smile super adorably every single time he caught someone in the crowd smiling at him and it was so cute. I think he smiled at me once (?) although that might have been at the women who were screaming bloody murder behind me…Also, Drew (bass/keys) apparently saw me from across the stage cause he was on the right side and I was all the way on the left so I guess we’re like buds now. Corene and I talked tattoos with Matt (AMAZING drummer) and how he blinks in like every photo. I finally have amazing people to say are from New Jersey besides my dad and his side of the family!
Bottom line is that everyone should check out the perfection that is The Front Bottoms.
ALSO, Brian remembered Kelly and I from when we met him at the Say Anything show. I might have just died of happiness inside when he was like “Oh hey! I remember you!”
THE HENRY CLAY PEOPLE
Awesome adorable band. They were really entertaining to watch and their songs were nice to listen to. The band members themselves are just fun. I wish I had more to say about them, but none of us met any of them and we were just like “I like this band.”
And then we went to Denny’s where a fight broke out and stuff. It was awesome. We also got free blueberry strawberry pancakes, which was nice.
Now I’m off to go and dream about how perfect tonight was and how I want to relive it.
Thanks for the memories Motion City Soundtrack, The Front Bottoms, and The Henry Clay People. Thanks so much :)
